I have narrated around 80 audiobooks across many different genres and have won several awards for my work in this field, including an “Audie” award (the “Oscar” of the audiobook industry) for Gail Honeyman’s Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, as well as four “Earphones” awards from industry magazine Audiofile.
I also use my voice coaching skills to provide training for other narrators and audio performers.

Reviews
Mina’s latest thriller is a spellbinding listen featuring a superbly talented narrator. Cathleen McCarron expertly portrays numerous characters spanning several ages, accents, genders, and emotions…McCarron is a narrative force.
Audiofile Magazine
In this marvellous collection of essays, Kathleen Jamie meditates on time, nature, and family with lyrical prose full of wicked wit. Narrator Cathleen McCarron’s performance is a perfect match. Her Scottish accent is appealing, and her timing is akin to musical phrasing that enhances a composer’s intent.
Audiofile Magazine
Narrator McCarron gives an award-worthy performance: her Eleanor is by turns comical in her obliviousness to basic things and utterly heartbreaking in discussing her past. Her narration is nuanced, conveying both Eleanor’s surface façade of “everything’s fine” and all the subtle layers of repressed pain and trauma underneath. It’s a performance that will stay in listeners’ minds long after the story is over.
Publisher’s Weekly
Narrator Cathleen McCarron’s articulated British accent and studied pacing lend weight to Eleanor’s apparent alienation from the world – and her immediate charm to listeners. Whether considered internally or voiced aloud, Eleanor’s observations of human behavior are astute, though often misguided, and McCarron’s earnest portrayal captures her contradictions wonderfully…While supporting characters are well defined with distinct voices and accents, McCarron especially shines in setting the story’s emotional tone.
Audiofile Magazine
Cathleen McCarron’s wonderful native Scottish accent coupled with her storyteller’s delivery makes this complex mystery come to life…McCarron uses a simple narrative voice throughout but with such verve and appropriate passion and inflection that it produces a stunning result. Her power is especially evident in strained situations like carrying on a conversation in an upper story of a demolition site, a scene in which she makes the reader feel the buffeting winds.
Audiofile Magazine
Cathleen McCarron narrates the book in an intoxicating Scottish accent that adds yet another engaging dimension to an exceedingly clever and absorbing tale.
Washington Post
McCarron excels with virtuoso storytelling, description, and character portrayals, and her re-creation of a hypnosis scene is memorable.
Audiofile Magazine
Cathleen McCarron, one of Scotland’s best audiobook narrators, is the ideal voice.
